How to sign up for Gleam text alerts

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Gleam is a private, invitation-only web app run by Tom Kingston. Only people he invites can use it. Each person decides for themselves whether to get Gleam alerts by text.

How you sign up

  1. You get an invitation to Gleam from Tom Kingston.
  2. You sign in to Gleam.
  3. On the Alert settings page, you enter your own mobile number.
  4. You check the box "Text me Gleam alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel." (the text alert terms and the privacy policy are linked right next to it) and save.

The box is never checked for you, and only you can sign up your own number: nobody can sign up someone else.
